As you probably figured out from the previous post, I was in Hong Kong last week for the Nokia Symbian Belle launch event as well as a small campaign called “Try Something New / 48 hours in Hong Kong” arranged by WOMWorldNokia. We were 6 people who got invited from all over the world to experience amazing things and I’m so happy I was one of them, because this trip was by far one of the best things I’ve ever done and I’m sad to be back home, I want to do more things like this!
Before I arrived to the location I didn’t even know there would be a camera crew with us, so it was quite a shock when I realized they would be filming pretty much everything we do, haha… the video should come out this week, not sure if I can watch it myself immediately, because I know what I did and I know some of my comments and just hope the camera man is reeeeally nice to me……. and hopefully he Photoshopped all the sweat off my face, the 30 degree makeup-free look is probably not very flattering. But oh well, it’s just me… very exposed. But now it’s done and I hope I won’t look too bad and that my English won’t sound too bad either. I’ve never done any kind of interviews before, and the last time I had a long conversation in English before this was April 2011… so yea, not really looking forward to see the outcome, but at least I had so much fun doing it and that’s what matters! We worry too much about stupid things!
But now for the pics. I will have do several posts with this amount of photos, so first up is Tuesday 23/8, the day we arrived. We did some walking around Hong Kong and then went for a dinner to The Peak. There’s an amazing night view over Hong Kong from there! This was my first time in China and Hong Kong is actually a very nice city. At first I wasn’t too impressed – the heat was something completely new to me, the streets were so crowded, the skyscrapers are everywhere and you feel so small there. Not to mention that it smells very different if you’re used to Europe… not kidding. But I learned to like it during the days I spent there.
Next time I visit China I hope I can also visit some of the amazing islands located outside the Hong Kong coastline, because they looked so beautiful from the airplane! Do you know of some good companies or private persons that offer e.g. yacht or sailing charters around the Hong Kong islands for small private groups…? That would be amazing – a few nights in Hong Kong and then one week or so exploring the sea!
